Spaced Repetition for University Exams: A Practical Schedule

· 7 min

Cramming feels productive but decays within days. Spaced repetition spreads short sessions so each review happens just before you would forget — the sweet spot for long syllabi.

A simple 14-day template

  1. Day 1–2: Upload PDF, first oral simulation (diagnostic only).
  2. Day 3–5: Flashcards daily + one MCQ quiz every other day.
  3. Day 6–10: Oral sessions every 2 days; filter hard cards only.
  4. Day 11–13: Mixed quiz + oral on weak rubric criteria.
  5. Day 14: Light review — no new material.

Why mixing modes beats one format

Flashcards strengthen recall; quizzes test speed; oral exams test explanation under pressure. Rotating formats uses the same PDF but engages different memory systems.
