How to Prepare for Oral Exams with AI (Without Cheating Yourself)

· 6 min

Oral exams reward clear explanations, not memorized paragraphs. AI simulators help when they stay grounded in your course PDF and give honest feedback — not when they invent easy questions.

Step 1: Upload the real syllabus material

Use the same PDF or notes your professor provided. Interrogo extracts the full document (not just the first pages) so questions can target definitions, formulas, and arguments from the entire course.

Step 2: Run a short oral simulation

Answer out loud. If you say "I don't know" repeatedly, your score should reflect that — a fair rubric is more useful than a flattering grade. Note which criteria scored lowest: accuracy, completeness, terminology, or connections.

Step 3: Drill weak spots with flashcards and a quiz

Generate flashcards from the same PDF, then filter difficult cards only. Add a multiple-choice quiz to test recognition before the next oral round. Alternating modes improves retention more than repeating one format.

What to avoid

  • Practicing only with generic chatbots not tied to your PDF
  • Reading answers instead of speaking them
  • Cramming the night before without spaced repetition
